I hope you watch this ted video. Personality Disorder discharges were commonly doled out to female vets, who reported military sexual trauma, to deny them benefits upon discharge. Like the Ted video states, this is labeled a “Pre-Existing Condition”. A “Pre-existing Mental Condition.” But to me, like watching First Wives Club, why buy the cow, when you can ensure you get the milk and the meat for free?
When you enlist in the military, you take a test called the ASVAB. This test is an aptitude test ensuring that you have the minimal intelligent requirements to be trained to serve in the military. This also tells the military what sort of jobs you might excel at. Then you go through a series of interviews and medical exams, to ensure you have all your fingers and toes, and that there are no obvious problems that would hinder your ability to serve in the military which can be very physically, and emotionally stressful. And you also go through a Background Check, that supposedly is very expensive, where “Men in Black” call and interview references you give, and family members, to see if you have any tendencies or habits or associations that might preclude service—such as drug addictions, past felonies, strange habits—back when I was in, if you might be gay or a communist or if you had been institutionalized or under psychiatric treatments.
So what that means is that when you go to bootcamp, you have received the Department of Defense Stamp of Approval for you to be there. Which is why it has always stumped me to no end, that after all that, the military could ever claim a Pre-existing condition.
It’s like they are saying:
Oops! My bad, I know we said you were healthy, and I know we stressed you and put you in harm’s way, made you work 18 hours a day, separated you from family, took you out of your country and directly benefited from your service...but we were wrong! Get out please and no you may not collect the benefits we promised by contractual agreement because you are crazy!
This is vulture capitalism at work in the US Military. This is corrupt, sadistic bean-counters ruining whats left of lives, by “saving money” at the expense of people who had a contract with their own country to compensate them in the event their health is directly affected in a negative manner, by their service. It’s flat out fucked up is what it is.
I don’t care if they come back eating checkers and talking to thin air. You MEPs people let them in, then that means they get compensated period. A vet is a vet is a vet. If the DoD has a problem with this, then they need to come down on MEPs and change the enlistment process, the DoD and the VA should not be able to violate these contracts. And that is what this is—A violation of a contract, a broken promise made by this country to care for Veterans in return for their service to this country in any capacity required.
Veterans have been screaming about this for a very long time. And no one listened til now. Well—are you awake? This is why Veterans need their civilian counterparts.
Imagine how exhausted one could be after receiving injuries and suffering various conditions, and then trying to fight for your just compensation while being stigmatized with a mental health condition that is stamped on your head to deny your value to this country, and to excuse the denial of services promised by contract.
Yet another broken contract.
Sure you can trust the government. Just ask a Whale, an Indian or a Vet.

Bad Faith
1) n. intentional dishonest act by not fulfilling legal or contractual obligations, misleading another, entering into an agreement without the intention or means to fulfill it, or violating basic standards of honesty in dealing with others. Most states recognize what is called "implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing" which is breached by acts of bad faith, for which a lawsuit may be brought (filed) for the breach (just as one might sue for breach of contract). The question of bad faith may be raised as a defense to a suit on a contract. 2) adj. when there is bad faith then a transaction is called a "bad faith" contract or "bad faith" offer.
That’s what I think of this whole situation. Maybe there needs to be a class action suit generated somewhere. File a complaint with the State Attorney General in the State where you received your MEPs Exams and with the State Attorney General in your home of record.
