For those of you who have been waiting all aquiver with bated breath on the edge of your seats to know which hypothetical 2016 Republican presidential contender would draw Mitt Romney's support, the moment has arrived. Via Mitt's wife, Ann.
Drumroll, please!
“There are some great candidates out there and I think Mitt and I always are very, very partial to Paul Ryan, but we don’t even know if he’s going to run. But there are some good candidates,” Romney said on CBS News’ “This Morning.”
There you have it. Mitt Romney would likely support the guy he chose for vice president. So basically, surprising only in that it's such a marked contrast with the 2008 Republican presidential nominee's relationship with his running mate.
In any case, Republicans might as well not even hold a primary now that Mitt's mouthpiece has spoken. Given the undying allegiance the Romneys hold among Republican primary voters, this thing is over, right?
