Sens. Clinton & Biden Gave Me a Great Idea

Wed Aug 27, 2008 at 08:43:09 PM PDT

This isn't much of a "diary," but Sens. Clinton & Biden gave me an idea. Last night Hillary said:

With an agenda like that, it makes sense that George Bush and John McCain will be together next week in the Twin Cities. Because these days they're awfully hard to tell apart.

Then tonight Biden literally got them confused! You can't make this stuff up.

So, to help out all the viewers next week, I'm sending these to St. Paul, MN:

McCain Assaulted a Woman in a Wheelchair

Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 10:27:10 PM PDT

back in 1996, according to Elliot D. Cohen in a guest column at Buzzflash. And even though there were several eyewitnesses and numerous complaints to the Senate Ethics Committee, it was never investigated.

Fitting considering a conversation I just had the other day with a life-long Republican (he even served in the Ford administration). He said he was embarrassed for his party this year. Why? Because he's worked with McCain on several occassions and told me that everything you've heard about his temper is accurate. He told me that McCain should never set foot in the oval office.

Tell-Tale Sign? Hillary in "Baruch" College Tomorrow Night

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 08:01:18 AM PDT

This caught my eye. Ben Smith at Politico reports that Hillary Clinton will spend election night at Baruch College in Manhattan. Unfortunately, the rest of what he writes doesn't inspire much confidence:

A Clinton source says it'll be "valedictory" but she seems unlikely to actually drop out and endorse Obama tomorrow.

But then something occured to me.

Baruch, in hebrew, means the same thing as Barack: Blessed one.

Clinton Superdelegate: "Obama will be our nominee"

Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 09:14:36 PM PDT

This might make some people sleep a little better tonight. Ron Gunzberger, from Politics1, is as good a blogger as you'll find in the Sunshine State, and dishes with this little tidbit: (It appears that just about any Clinton superdelegate with half a brain who'll talk to you off the record has figured out that Obama is our nominee)

G.I. Hillary

Wed Mar 26, 2008 at 07:19:14 PM PDT

How much does Hillary Clinton love America by preparing herself to serve as Commander-in-Chief? Well as a lawyer in 1975, Hillary Clinton did what any 27 year-old Wellesley graduate, fresh off a stint volunteering with the McGovern campaign, would do. Go to her local Armed Forces Recruiting Center to try and join the Marines.

Haha. Seriously though, can you imagine? Wait....what?!

Carl Bernstein Confirms What We Already Know

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 07:23:33 PM PDT

Carl Bernstein on CNN just said that he's talked to Clinton strategists and their only way to win the nomination is to go so negative on Obama that they will sway the superdelegates.

And what's sad is, this should not be news! Of course it's their only way to overtake Obama. Can someone please send the MSM a calculator? Or at least point them to the one that comes with every version of Microsoft Windows?

"Momentum" doesn't magically equal pledged delegates.

Bernstein has been writing a biography on Hillary for the longest time, so he probably has excellent contacts.

BREAKING: Teamsters Endorsing Obama

Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 10:31:21 AM PDT

Two sources have told CNN that the Teamsters Union will endorse Barack Obama for President today. That's huge considering a major Rust Belt state, Ohio, is voting in two weeks. Meanwhile white, blue-collar Democrats continue to abandon Clinton.

(Of course, Laverne & Shirley didn't help Clinton in Wisconsin, so what do I know?)

Phil Forgit (VA-01) on Iraq

Fri Dec 07, 2007 at 08:22:33 PM PDT

Phil Forgit's had a busy week. Not only has he received strong support from Virginia's Democratic congressional delegation, Sen. Webb, Gov. Kaine, fmr. Gov. Mark Warner, Gen. Wesley Clark (ret.), and Sen. Obama....He then went down to Norfolk for a debate and preceded to take his GOP opponent, Rob Wittman, to school.

Forgit's made a name for himself as one of the best educators in America (just ask the NEA). But when he was sent to Iraq recently as a member of the Naval Reserves, Phil learned some things himself. It's maybe the most basic thing that seperates Democrats from Republicans imho. Greed:

BREAKING: Special Election in VA on Dec. 11!

Mon Dec 03, 2007 at 07:56:54 PM PDT

I'm very excited at the prospect of turning Ohio's 5th District blue on Dec. 11. We have a great candidate and a decidedly unfavorable enviornment for the GOP down in the Buckeye State. But, as a resident of Virginia's 1st Congressional District, I'm starting to feel a little bummed at the prospect of a wasted opportunity.

Phil Forgit is not only from a more populous area of the district than his opponent, Rob Wittman, but he's a decorated Iraq War veteran in an area of the state where the military is of huge importance to it's voters.

VA CD-1 Special Election Update

Sun Nov 04, 2007 at 05:02:35 PM PDT

Here's where we stand right now for the Dec. 11 special election to fill the seat of Rep. JoAnn Davis (R-VA), who recently lost her battle with breast cancer.

On Nov. 6, four days before both parties pick their nominee via convention, Virginia will hold elections for state and local offices. It's a possibility that a few more people who are running in one of those Nov. 6 contests could jump in the special election race afterwards, but not likely. They'd only have a couple of days to campaign for the nomination.

We could have as many as 17 candidates vying for the Democratic and Republican nominations, which will be decided on Nov. 10:
